Newcastle United and the Fan Advisory Board (FAB) have published the FAB meeting summary notes of their first meeting of the the 2025/26 season.

Newly-appointed CEO David Hopkinson joined the forum to meet with members of the FAB who discussed a number of current topics which were brought forward from supporter groups and individuals.

Ticketing

A focus of the meeting centred around matchday ticketing and transparency of the ballot system.

Figures for the home game ballot system were shared including the below:

  • 23% overall success rate for members in sourcing tickets via ballot, general sale, forwarding or ticket resale.

  • 14% of unsuccessful applicants later buy tickets via member general sale or ticket re-sale.

  • 13% of people that are successful in the ballot, do not go on to purchase a ticket.

Fan Advisory Board driving Season Ticket Waiting List

The FAB is continuing to lead on work to introduce a new Season Ticket Waiting List which will see wider fan consultation.

Chairman of the FAB, Michael McCarthy, spoke about the importance of introducing this new system to give supporters further transparency on ticketing.

He said: "By having a waiting list for season tickets, supporters will gain further understanding on timeframes - a question that is regularly asked without any answers. We know that season tickets are in high demand, and everybody would love one, but also that people cannot always commit to these.

"The waiting list will allow fans to know how close they are to getting a season ticket. Further fan consultation will be held around this initiative. FAB welcomed the club's recognition of the importance of ensuring this initiative remains supporter-led."

The FAB meeting also covered several key topics, led by Chief Commercial Officer Peter Silverstone and Chief Operating Officer Brad Miller including details and due diligence being taken on the potential new club crest along with a stadium development update.
