A look at the weekend's action involving Magpies players currently out on loan...

Ryan Fraser

The Scotland international continued his excellent recent run of form for Southampton with another goal in the Saints' 4-0 home win over Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship.

Fraser's strike came on 75 minutes after earlier efforts from Che Adams and Adam Armstrong had put the hosts in command at St Mary's. Sekou Mara's late goal wrapped it up for Russell Martin's men, who now sit third in the second tier.

That was the seventh goal of Fraser's productive loan spell on the south coast. He was replaced by Tyler Dibling with two minutes of the contest remaining.

Joe White

White rounded off his half-season loan spell at Crewe Alexandra with a 68-minute outing in their 2-1 League Two win over Swindon Town, finishing his time with the Alex with 25 appearances and three goals.

Jeff Hendrick

Republic of Ireland midfielder Hendrick wasn't part of the Sheffield Wednesday squad which was beaten 4-0 by Fraser's Southampton.

Matty Bondswell

Left back Bondswell didn't make it off the bench for Newport County as the Exiles beat Doncaster Rovers 1-0 away from home in League Two.

Jamal Lewis

Lewis remains out of action and therefore missed out on Watford's 2-1 Championship win at Queens Park Rangers.

Kell Watts

Wigan Athletic drew 1-1 with Northampton Town at the weekend but centre back Watts wasn't in the squad.

Harrison Ashby

Ashby missed out on Swansea City's 2-2 Championship draw with Birmingham City on Saturday.

Cameron Ferguson

Frontman Ferguson remained on the bench as Forfar Athletic beat Elgin City 2-1 in Scottish League Two.
