Goalkeeper on losing side in KNVB Cup final

Krul had been the hero in the semi-finals as his dramatic penalty save against Cambuur put his side into the final against Vitesse Arnhem at Feyenoord's De Kuip stadium.

But former Norwich striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel scored twice to break the resolve of Krul and his colleagues.

Meanwhile in France, Florian Thauvin's impressive form for Marseille continued as the winger hit a hat-trick in a 5-1 win at Caen on Sunday. Henri Saivet had appeared as a 75th minute substitute for Saint-Etienne as they won 2-0 at Guingamp the previous day.

And in Switzerland, Kevin Mbabu helped BSC Young Boys to a 2-0 win at St. Gallen on Sunday. The defender played the full 90 minutes. Lubo Satka also played the whole game in Slovakia as FC DAC beat Senica 1-0.

In Scotland, Freddie Woodman made a string of fine saves and earned praised from his manager, Lee McCulloch, as Kilmarnock won 2-0 at Hamilton Academical on Saturday. Sean Longstaff also started, playing for 77 minutes, while Callum Roberts was an unused substitute.

Alex Gilliead made his return from injury as Bradford City drew 1-1 at Rochdale in their final game of the campaign. He set up the Bantams' goal and also hit the woodwork during his 55 minutes on the pitch.

Bradford will now compete in the League One play-offs, as will Scunthorpe, who beat Coventry 3-1 with Ivan Toney an unused substitute.

Carlisle are looking to reach the League Two play-offs and a 2-1 win over Newport boosted their chances. Macaulay Gillesphey played the full game for the Cumbrians.

Adam Armstrong appeared as a late substitute for Barnsley as they drew 1-1 with Burton, and will be unavailable for the Tykes' final game of the season as they take on Newcastle at St. James' Park on Sunday.

Ben Smith played no part as Spennymoor Town clinched promotion to the National League North with a 1-0 play-off win over Stourbridge.
