Newcastle United secured an assured victory at St. James' Park on Wednesday night, defeating Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 in Carabao Cup action.

The Magpies struck in the first half as Fabian Schar headed home from a corner to give Newcastle the lead in the 24th minute. Aaron Ramsdale kept his first clean sheet in his second start at home for United. Nick Woltemade's brave second-half header put the Magpies two in front whilst Sandro Tonali's dominant return to the Newcastle midfield was capped with an assist.
