The Welsh international joins the Magpies having spent the last two seasons with Liverpool in the Barclays Women’s Super League.
During her time with the Reds, Gemma made 39 appearances following her switch from Manchester United in August 2024, where she won the Adobe Women’s FA Cup in her one season with them.
She previously spent time with Reading, Bristol City and Yeovil Town representing them all while playing in the top flight.
The 29-year-old has been a key figure for Wales since making her debut in 2016, going on to make 85 appearances to date. She was also part of their first ever major tournament squad at Euro 2025.
On joining Newcastle United Women, Gemma said: “I’m happy this move is finally over the line. I’m over the moon, I’m looking forward to meeting the girls, meeting the fans and showing them what I can do.
"I think it’s a really exciting project to be part of and I can’t wait to get going.”
Manager Tanya Oxtoby said: “Gemma joins us with great experience both at club level and internationally with Wales. She is someone that I have worked with previously, so I know what she offers us on the pitch with her fight and determination, as well as her defensive attributes.
“She understands what it takes to play in the WSL, and that is where we want to be. I am looking forward to working with Gemma again.”
