New signing Kathleen McGovern, who joined the club over the summer from Hibernian Women, will be taking the famous number nine shirt, previously worn by Shania Hayles, while Mollie Lambert has taken the number 10 shirt, which was worn by Molly Pike, who called time on her professional football career earlier this year.
Amongst United’s eight other new signings so far this summer, Gemma Evans will wear number 23, previously worn by Charlotte Potts; Hanna Németh will be number 15, which was vacated by Małgorzata Grec, who departed the club in July.
Icelandic international Hildur Antonsdóttir has been handed Femke Liefting’s former number 16; Kayla Rendell is the club’s new number 12, which was worn by Deanna Cooper for two seasons, and Rachel McLauchlan will wear the number 27 that Hannah Hawkins, a fellow Scot, donned for United.
Amongst our new arrivals, Martha Thomas, 17, Katie Bradley, 19, Jessie Gale, 30, and Leanne Kiernan, 33, have all taken on numbers that were already available.
