Spanish star wins award for Leicester lob

The Spanish star raced onto Florian Lejeune's long pass and, spotting Kasper Schmeichel off his line, expertly guided the ball into the net from 25 yards.

It was nominated for the Premier League's Carling goal of the month award and has been selected as the Magpies' best goal of a great season.

Supporters were invited to choose from a shortlist of ten goals and both of Kenedy's goals against Southampton and Matt Ritchie's winner against Manchester United also received plenty of votes.

It is the second year in a row that Pérez has won the NUFC TV goal of the season award. He picked up the trophy for 2016/17 after finishing off a superb team move against Ipswich, rifling home after every outfield player had touched the ball from the kick-off.

Pérez also won the same award in 2014/15 for an audacious backheeled flick against West Bromwich Albion.

He will be presented with the trophy for 2017/18 when the players report back for pre-season training next month.
