Miguel Almirón comes in for Jacob Murphy in the only change to Eddie Howe's starting XI for Newcastle United's clash with Leeds United

The Paraguayan, who has scored 11 times this season, has started just once - in last month's 4-1 victory at Everton - since suffering a thigh injury in March.

But he has made four substitute appearances in that time, and comes into the side at Elland Road as the Magpies look to bounce back from last weekend's defeat to Arsenal.

Almirón's introduction is the only alteration to the XI which started against the Gunners, meaning Nick Pope is in goal, Kieran Trippier is captain and right-back, Dan Burn is at left-back and Fabian Schär and Sven Botman continue in central defence.

Bruno Guimarães, Joe Willock and Joelinton are in the midfield engine room, with Almirón and Alexander Isak supporting top scorer Callum Wilson.

Howe has plenty of attacking options from the bench, too, with Murphy, Allan Saint-Maximin, Anthony Gordon and Elliot Anderson all capable of changing the game if required.

Martin Dúbravka is the substitute goalkeeper, with Javier Manquillo, Paul Dummett, Matt Targett and Jamal Lewis the other potential replacements. Matt Ritchie has a knee injury while Sean Longstaff is absent with the same foot problem which has kept him the past two matches.
