Head coach Eddie Howe has given goalkeeper Ramsdale the nod ahead of the injured Nick Pope for the Magpies' first-ever trip to the Hill Dickinson Stadium in one of six changes to his side from Tuesday night's Champions League defeat at Marseille. Lewis Hall also comes into the side for his first league start since September, with Lewis Miley and Joelinton brought into the midfield and Anthony Elanga and Nick Woltemade deployed further forward as United look for that elusive first top flight away win of the season.
Tino Livramento, Malick Thiaw and Dan Burn join Hall in defence with Fabian Schär among the substitutes, while Miley and Joelinton are preferred to Sandro Tonali and Joe Willock in the middle of the park, where captain Bruno Guimarães leads the side.
Former Toffee Anthony Gordon is replaced by Woltemade in attack, with Elanga and the in-form Harvey Barnes also lining up in Merseyside.
Gordon is joined on the bench by Schär, Tonali, Willock and Jacob Murphy - that quintet all started in France in midweek - with youngsters Alex Murphy and Sean Neave also named.
Jacob Ramsey is among the substitutes too, and John Ruddy is the backup goalkeeper.
