Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe has made six changes to his side for Sunday's Premier League game against West Ham United (kick-off 2pm GMT).

The Magpies eased past Tottenham Hotspur in midweek to reach the Carabao Cup quarter-finals and having shuffled his pack for that 2-0 victory, United head coach Howe has opted to restore some of the players who were rested on Wednesday night to his starting 11 in the capital.

That means that Nick Pope is back in for Aaron Ramsdale in goal, with Sven Botman and skipper Bruno Guimarães coming in for Fabian Schär and Joe Willock respectively.

Joelinton, Anthony Gordon and Jacob Murphy also return at the expense of Jacob Ramsey, Harvey Barnes and Anthony Elanga, while defender Kieran Trippier misses out through illness against Nuno Espírito Santo's men.

Emil Krafth, Malick Thiaw, Dan Burn and leading goalscorer Nick Woltemade - who netted his sixth in Magpies colours against Spurs four days ago - all keep their places, along with the influential Sandro Tonali.

Ramsdale, Schär, Barnes, Elanga and Willock are all on the bench, along with the returning Lewis Hall.

Lewis Miley, Will Osula and Ramsey are also named among the substitutes.
