Sandro Tonali and Jacob Murphy will return to the Newcastle United line-up for Tuesday's clash with Tottenham Hotspur at St. James' Park (kick-off 8:15pm GMT).

Midfielder Tonali and winger Murphy start at the expense of captain Bruno Guimarães and Anthony Elanga in the only two changes made by head coach Eddie Howe following Saturday's emphatic 4-1 win at Everton.

That means Aaron Ramsdale is in goal once again for what will be his first Premier League start at St. James', with Tino Livramento and Lewis Hall flanking Malick Thiaw and stand-in skipper Dan Burn in defence.

Tonali anchors a midfield, with Lewis Miley - a goalscorer in that weekend win on Merseyside - keeping his place alongside Joelinton.

And leading goalscorer Nick Woltemade will lead the line, with support from Murphy and Harvey Barnes as United look to extend their fine recent home record against Thomas Frank's Spurs.

There is plenty of firepower on the bench, with Guimarães, Elanga and Anthony Gordon all named alongside Jacob Ramsey and Joe Willock.

Youngsters Alex Murphy and Sean Neave are involved too, with Fabian Schär and John Ruddy completing the list of substitutes named by Howe for their second meeting with Spurs of the campaign so far, with the Magpies having won 2-0 in the Carabao Cup in October.
