From Merseyside to Tyneside - January 2023
A 21-year-old Gordon arrived at St. James' Park from Everton, ending an 11-year stint with the Toffees as well as completing his first permanent move away from his hometown city of Liverpool.
"Since I heard of the interest, I was always convinced Newcastle were for me," Gordon told newcastleunited.com.
"I think the fan base and the city really suits me as a person, the way the team are playing under the gaffer at the minute really suits me, and the club just look like they're heading in the right direction.
"I feel like it's a really big step. People haven't seen what I'm capable of yet. I think under the gaffer, and the way the club's going, I can really excel here."
Off the mark in black and white - May 2023
Initially handed the number eight shirt for Eddie Howe's side, Gordon made his Magpies debut during a 1-1 home draw against West Ham United in the second half of the 2022/23 campaign.

Newcastle's clash against PSG proved to be one of the club's greatest nights in recent memory as goals from Miguel Almirón, Dan Burn, Sean Longstaff and Fabian Schär sealed a 4-1 win against the European giants, with Gordon playing 90 minutes under the lights at St. James' Park.

Wor Flags display - September 2024
Before Newcastle's Premier League visit of champions Manchester City, supporter group Wor Flags provided a stunning visual display in tribute to Gordon.
The East Stand of St. James' Park was covered by a large surfer flag, featuring Gordon's shirt flanked by 'AG10' in gold foil on either side and the left winger repaid the home supporters with a goal in a 1-1 draw, scoring from the penalty spot.
Reflecting on the flag display, Gordon said: " I don't think fans will ever quite know what that stuff will mean.
"I've got family in the stadium watching. I've got a little son so those are memories that will stay with me forever.
"I don't think they quite know what it meant to me. I heard about it yesterday but I don't think, until I'd seen it today, I knew how I'd feel. I was almost crying on the pitch."

Despite being suspended for the final following a straight red card in United's FA Cup defeat against Brighton & Hove Albion, Gordon played a major part in helping the Magpies secure a second cup final in the last three seasons.
Newcastle claimed a 4-0 aggregate victory against Arsenal in the semi-final stage, with Gordon netting in both legs of the cup tie.
Champions League history - February 2026
Newcastle returned to Europe's top table after claiming fifth place in the Premier League during the 2025/26 season.

After netting four times in his opening three matches, Gordon's finest night on the European stage came in Newcastle's 6-1 win against Qarabag FK, scoring four times in the first half of the last-16 play-off tie in Baku.
Gordon now stands as the club's all-time leading goalscorer in the Champions League and became just the third Newcastle player to score a hat-trick in the tournament after Shearer and Tino Asprilla.
