Eddie Howe's side made it three straight Premier League victories in midweek as they beat Leeds United at St. James' Park, with Harvey Barnes netting deep into stoppage time.

He is one of the four players to keep their place, with Malick Thiaw and Sandro Tonali - both withdrawn at half time on Wednesday night - and Nick Woltemade the others.

Fabian Schär was stretchered off against Leeds and misses out through injury.

Aaron Ramsdale starts in goal against one of his former clubs while Kieran Trippier makes his return to action in defence and will captain the side.

Woltemade is partnered with Yoane Wissa up front for the first time.

Teenager Sam Alabi is again among the substitutes - having come off the bench for the under-21s against Middlesbrough the previous night.

Newcastle United: Aaron Ramsdale, Kieran Trippier (c), Sven Botman, Sandro Tonali, Yoane Wissa, Harvey Barnes, Malick Thiaw, Tino Livramento, Nick Woltemade, Joe Willock, Jacob Ramsey

Substitutes: Nick Pope, Lewis Hall, Joelinton, Anthony Gordon, Alex Murphy, Bruno Guimarães, Sean Neave, Lewis Miley, Sam Alabi
