He replaces Nick Woltemade in the only change to the side which drew at Wolves at the weekend. It's the summer signing from Brentford's full Champions League debut - he was a late substitute in December's 2-2 draw with Bayer Leverkusen.

Woltemade is on the bench, with two goalkeepers among the substitutes as Max Thompson is included in the squad as well as Aaron Ramsdale.

Anthony Gordon will look to add to his five goals in the competition so far this term, with Harvey Barnes one behind with four. Dutch defender Sven Botman continues in the back line against the runaway Eredivisie leaders.

This is the fifth meeting between Newcastle and PSV. United met the Dutch side in the group stages of the Champions League in 1997/98 and the quarter-finals of the UEFA Cup in 2003/04.

Newcastle United: Nick Pope, Kieran Trippier, Lewis Hall, Sven Botman, Joelinton, Sandro Tonali, Anthony Gordon, Harvey Barnes, Malick Thiaw, Yoane Wissa, Bruno Guimarães (c)

Substitutes: Max Thompson, Aaron Ramsdale, Anthony Elanga, Nick Woltemade, Joe Willock, Alex Murphy, Jacob Ramsey, Leo Shahar, Sean Neave, Lewis Miley
