Newcastle United have teamed up with Fantasy Football Scout to bring you Fantasy Premier League (FPL) hints, tips and advice throughout the 2026/27 season.

Scout will be offering their expertise every Gameweek, which could prove invaluable in helping you win your mini-leagues.

Best of Newcastle in Gameweek 3

Harvey Barnes (£6.0m) was the Magpies' star of the show in Gameweek 3.

The winger curled in a Goal of the Season contender to reduce the arrears at St James' Park before claiming a 'Fantasy assist' when his blocked shot fell to Jacob Ramsey (£4.9m) for United's late leveller.

Barnes scooped an additional two bonus points to emerge from Saturday's clash with Bournemouth with a 12-point haul.

That double-digit return thrust Barnes into the top 20 top-scoring Fantasy midfielders of 2026/27, where in-form Anthony Elanga (£6.1m) can also be found.

Ramsey is a name for the watchlist, too. There are few sub-£5.0m FPL midfielders who can offer reliable game-time - just six started in Gameweek 3 - so if the former Aston Villa man can establish himself as a regular in the Magpies’ engine room, he could prove to be a bargain.

Elsewhere, Lewis Hall’s (£5.1m) superb start to the campaign continued with an assist for Barnes’ goal.

Speaking of Hall, Newcastle head coach Matthias Jaissle said on Thursday that he was “in love” with what he has seen from the full-back so far this season.

Fantasy managers are starting to become enamoured with the England international, too, as he’s the third-most-bought defender of Gameweek 4.

At the time of writing, over 320,000 FPL bosses have snapped up the 22-year-old ahead of Saturday’s deadline.

It’s easy to see Hall’s appeal, given that he offers multiple routes to FPL points.

Clean sheets are the bread and butter of a defender’s game, and he already has one of those under his belt after the excellent 2-0 success at Tottenham Hotspur in Gameweek 2.

But attacking returns are also possible with Hall, as we saw against the Cherries and indeed in the EFL Cup win over Millwall on Tuesday.

The United left-back has taken more corners (seven) than any of his teammates this season, so there’s plenty of assist potential from both open play and dead-ball situations.

And, unusually for a full-back, he’s banked defensive contribution points in two of his three Premier League appearances.

It’s not often you find a defender who can supplement clean sheets with defensive contributions and attacking returns, but Hall is offering that at present.

FPL transfer market

Away from Newcastle, Fantasy managers are targeting Chelsea players this week.

The visit of Hull City kicks off a favourable-looking 10-match run for the Blues, who are the Premier League’s joint-top goalscorers after three Gameweeks.

Xabi Alonso’s side hit a further six goals in Wednesday’s EFL Cup victory over Leeds United.

Morgan Rogers (£7.6m) and Cole Palmer (£9.7m) are unsurprisingly among the top three most-bought players of Gameweek 4, with over a million transfers between them.

Teammate Joao Pedro (£7.7m) already features in over 70% of Fantasy squads.

The only player ahead of Palmer and Rogers for transfers in this week is Cody Gakpo (£7.2m), but FPL managers should tread carefully with him.

The Dutchman missed Liverpool’s UEFA Champions League tie with Atletico Madrid on Wednesday with adductor issues, so he’s now flagged as a doubt for Gameweek 4. Andoni Iraola may shed more light on his fitness in Friday’s press conference.
