But Harvey Barnes' second half brace made the points safe before captain Bruno Guimarães slotted home a fourth to complete the rout and lift United - who were led by Jason Tindall and Graeme Jones in the absence of Eddie Howe, who was admitted to hospital on Friday - up to fourth in the Premier League table.
