The draw for the competition - the first domestic trophy up for grabs in the coming season - took place on Thursday morning and was conducted by former England international Toni Duggan.
Becky Langley's side were placed in Group A in the northern section of the draw, and will face fellow Barclays Women's Super League 2 side Forest as well as two top flight outfits in the Toffees - who also played the Magpies at the same stage last term - and City, who lost to Chelsea in last season's final.
Group B will see Durham, Liverpool, Sunderland and Sheffield United battle to make it through to the knockout phase.
United's group stage fixtures are set to take place on 24th/25th September, 18th/19th October and 22nd/23rd November. The winner from each group in both the northern and southern sections will qualify for the quarter-finals, which will be played across the 20th and 21st December.
Exact dates for the Magpies' Subway Women's League Cup fixtures will be confirmed in due course.
