As part of our continued commitment to serving supporters through our annual Fan Engagement Plan, we are pleased to share detailed ticket information for the first half of the 2025/26 season (August through to December).

In consultation with our Fan Advisory Board, we are also including the number of season ticket holders we currently have at St. James' Park.

'Supporters are the heart of everything we do'

Our CEO, David Hopkinson, said: "Supporters are at the heart of everything we do, and we recognise the importance of maintaining open and transparent communication.

"That's why our Fan Advisory Board is invaluable. Our meetings and regular dialogue enable us to listen, learn and work collaboratively with fans to address the issues that matter most.

"Access to tickets is a great example. For some, coming to St. James' Park is a ritual they cherish. For so many others, it is a once-in-a-lifetime experience or a dream to come here. But to all of us, it matters.

"That's why, in partnership with the Fan Advisory Board and with the support of Newcastle United Supporters Trust, we are pleased to share this detailed information about home and away tickets.

"We are committed to ensuring our ticket processes are fair, accessible and trusted, and we'll continue to communicate and engage with supporters as we evolve our approach."

Ticketing approach

Our approach to ticketing is underpinned by three key principles:

  • System and process

We follow a process to ensure consistency is applied with all ticketing decisions.

  • Access & fairness

We ensure a fair approach when selling tickets.

  • Consultative evolution

We consult with supporters on ticketing changes.

Season tickets

We currently have over 35,000 season ticket holders. This equates to approximately 70% of home fans at a typical Premier League match at St. James' Park.

Of the remaining 30%, the vast majority of these tickets are reserved for our Mags+ and Mags members' ballot. Success rates for member ballots can be found below. Remaining tickets are allocated to hospitality clients, club and competition delegates and commercial partners.

Season ticket waiting list

The Fan Advisory Board is leading the work on creating a season ticket waiting list scheme, with support from Newcastle United. Updates will follow in due course.

Home matches

Due to incredibly high demand, our home match tickets are only available on a match-by-match basis to Mags members.

Tickets are first made available during the members' ballot application process. Then, upon the conclusion of the ballot, there is an opportunity for those who were unsuccessful to buy during our Members' sale or through our official resale platform.

Please find ticket success rate for fixtures played from August to December.

Away matches

Similarly, demand for away tickets is high. Tickets are sold in line with our loyalty points system, whereby fans accrue a loyalty point for every away match they attend.

Following fan consultation, ID checks on away tickets were introduced in the 2023/24 season to maintain the integrity of the loyalty points system and to act as a deterrent for passing tickets on.

Following supporters' feedback, ticketing forwarding was introduced for the 2024/25 season to help those who encounter last minute emergencies and ensure no seat is left unused.

Ticket touting

Touting is the unauthorised sale or distribution of tickets, and it is illegal.

It typically leaves purchasers vulnerable to scammers, who prey on fans' passion and loyalty to the club without having access to legitimate tickets, and can also lead to fans paying well above face value without guaranteed entry to the match.

We are committed to ensuring the integrity of our ticket sales processes by combating touting, and we work diligently to stop it occurring in person and online.

The only place to purchase tickets for our matches is directly at book.newcastleunited.com

Please see the list of Premier League unauthorised ticket websites.

Touting investigations

We closely monitor online activity so that we can identify suspicious season ticket and member accounts and take appropriate action. This includes the use of sophisticated technology that identifies bots and blocks their access to our systems.

To support this, we carry out an intelligence-led operation at every match at St. James' Park. This involves us blocking access at turnstiles for specific tickets that we believe may have been sold or shared without authority, and we carry out ID checks.

Where proof of touting can be secured, season ticket and member accounts are cancelled without refund.

Results of recent ID checks are below:

2025/26 season to date

Online accounts being monitored due to suspicious activity: 4,290

Online accounts cancelled for touting: 610
