The draw for the competition's new format have pitted the Magpies against the following clubs:

Marseille
PSV Eindhoven
Athletic Club
Union Saint-Gilloise
Eddie Howe's side will play FC Barcelona, S.L. Benfica, PSV Eindhoven and Athletic Club at St. James' Park.
The meetings with current holders Paris Saint-Germain as well as Bayer 04 Leverkusen, Marseille and Union SG will be away from home.
The teams that finish in the top eight of the league phase will go automatically through to the Round of 16, with sides placed ninth through to 24th competing in the two-legged knockout phase play-off.
