Lois Joel
Defender Joel's Wales made history on Tuesday, qualifying for a major women's tournament for the first time in their history by beating the Republic of Ireland 2-1 in the UEFA Women's EURO play-off final second leg to book their place at EURO 2025.
She had been an unused substitute as Rhian Wilkinson's charges drew 1-1 in the first leg at the Cardiff City Stadium on Friday, when Lily Woodham fired Wales ahead before Ruesha Littlejohn equalised from range for the visitors.
But in the winner-takes-it-all clash at Dublin's Aviva Stadium, goals from Hannah Cain and Carrie Jones handed Wales the victory, meaning they will be one of 16 teams at next year's finals in Switzerland.
Joel was again an unused substitute, but will now have a tournament to look forward to at the end of her first season with the Magpies.
Jasmine McQuade and Elysia Boddy
McQuade - who has progressed from Newcastle United Women's development squad to a star performer in the Women's Championship over the past two seasons - earned her first call-up to the England Under-23s squad alongside team-mate Boddy.
Boddy was due to start against Sweden at Doncaster Rovers' Eco-Power Stadium on Monday night, but suffered an injury in the warm-up and was replaced by Sarah Brasero. McQuade was on the bench, but was an unused substitute in a 2-1 defeat. Lucia Kendall opened the scoring for England but Sofia Reidy levelled before Neve Herron scored an unfortunate own goal. Katie Robinson saw a last-minute penalty saved by Sofia Hjern.
McQuade had originally been on standby for the squad while Boddy had won her first cap for England Under-23s in their goalless Euro League draw with Norway on Thursday night.
Emma Coates' side were held at the Fredrikstad Stadium - but United star Boddy came off the bench to replace Ruby Grant with 62 minutes gone as her side looked for an opener.
It didn't arrive, but it was still a hugely significant occasion for the 20-year-old, who had been capped at under-19 level before receiving her first under-23 call-up earlier this month. England remain top of Group B in their WU23 European competition.
Shania Hayles
In-form Hayles has been named in the Jamaica squad for two friendlies with South Africa. She helped the Reggae Girlz beat South Africa 3-0 on Friday, replacing Jade Bailey just after the hour mark. Siobhan Wilson gave Jamaica the lead before Bunny Shaw netted twice.
The two teams met again on Monday at the Catherine Hall Stadium at the Montego Bay Sports Complex, with Jamaica winning 3-2 and Hayles this time in from the start and playing for the opening 70 minutes.
Vyan Sampson, Drew Spence and Kayla McKenna scored for Jamaica, with Linda Motlhalo and Amogelang Motau on target for South Africa.
