Lewis Hall, Joelinton, Sandro Tonali and Harvey Barnes all come into the side as the Magpies seek a fourth Champions League win in this season's league phase when facing last season's Bundesliga runners-up at the BayArena.
Aaron Ramsdale continues in-between the sticks while Hall replaces Fabian Schär in defence, with Dan Burn likely to feature alongside Malick Thiaw at centre-back while Tino Livramento starts his sixth consecutive game in all competitions.
Joelinton and Tonali replace Jacob Ramsey and Joe Willock in the middle of the park, with Bruno Guimarães captaining the visitors this evening, while Barnes comes in for Anthony Elanga, who drops to the bench.
Anthony Gordon will be aiming to score in his third consecutive game for United after netting respective penalties against Tottenham Hotspur and Burnley while Nick Woltemade is set to lead the line, with the German striker aiming to add to his goalscoring tally of seven strikes so far this term.
Howe has a number of attacking options to deploy if needed, including Jacob Murphy and Yoane Wissa as the DR Congo international, who made his Magpies debut during Saturday's 2-1 win against Burnley, targets his Champions League bow from the substitutes' bench this evening.
Lewis Miley and Alex Murphy, both graduates of Newcastle's Academy, are named as substitutes while Max Thompson and Adam Harrison, also products of the Magpies' youth set-up, are the substitute goalkeepers.
