VisitMalta Weekender: French and Italian sides complete...

A Sunday double-header against top-tier French and Italian opposition completes the lineup for the home pre-season competition, which kicks off against German giants Bayer 04 Leverkusen.

Scheduled for 15–16 August, the two-day festival of football offers both the Magpies’ men’s and women’s squads a chance to sharpen pre-season preparations in front of a home crowd.

All matches across an action-packed weekend will be contested for VisitMalta Cup silverware, adding extra incentive for the club's return to St. James' Park this summer.

SATURDAY 15 AUGUST

Eddie Howe’s squad open the VisitMalta Weekender with the previously announced fixture against German Bundesliga side Bayer 04 Leverkusen, kicking off at 3.00pm.

SUNDAY 16 AUGUST (DOUBLE HEADER)

Newcastle United Women take centre-stage as part of a Sunday double-header.

Tanya Oxtoby’s team challenge last season’s Serie A Femminile runners-up, Inter Women, for the women's VisitMalta Cup silverware at 1.00pm.

Eddie Howe's team then return to the pitch at 4.00pm to close out the weekend against French Ligue 1 side Strasbourg.

Fans can choose from the Barracks package (£188 + VAT per person) or Wings (£250 + VAT per person) for Saturday's fixture against Bayer 04 Leverkusen.

On Sunday, premium tickets are available for £80 + VAT per person, which includes a Directors' Box seat, deli sandwich, side dish and tea and coffee voucher.
