The Magpies went into the Premier League tie buoyed by the returns of Tino Livramento, Lewis Hall and Fabian Schar - and all three defensive assets impressed as Eddie Howe notched his 100th win as Toon boss.

Harvey Barnes was the star of the show at the opposite end of the pitch, however, finding the net twice in the second period - either side of a Ruben Dias goal.

Malick Thiaw was once again a rock at the back, keeping Erling Haaland quiet throughout. Meanwhile, Hall and Livramento were equally impressive as they made their respective returns from injury, providing plenty of attacking support on and off the ball.
