The 27-year-old, who was also nominated for the Premier League's Guinness Goal of the Month award, is shortlisted for the prize after producing an exquisite piece of skill in the Magpies' 2-2 draw against Liverpool.

Willock nutmegged Liverpool's Alexis Mac Allister with a Cruyff turn before sending a dangerous cross into the box that was clawed away by Alisson Becker.

Willock is named in a five-man shortlist which includes Oli McBurnie of Hull City, Manchester City pair Phil Foden and Nico O'Reilly as well as Alex Scott of AFC Bournemouth.
