She had spent the previous 18 months with the reigning NWSL champions. She made 31 appearances and in the 2024 season helped them to achieve a record 60 points, while going on to win the NWSL Shield and then the NWSL Championship.

Prior to that, a short spell with the Kansas City Current came after spending four years with Chicago Red Stars. She would make a temporary switch to Olympique Lyonnais in 2018, where she won the French Division 1 title during a five-month spell.

Morgan has enjoyed a glittering international career for the United States, making 88 appearances and lifting the World Cup in both 2015 and 2019. She was also part of the 2016 Olympics squad in Brazil.

She will be with the Magpies until at least the end of December.
