Match officials confirmed for Crystal Palace clash

Darren England will be the referee for Newcastle United's Premier League clash against Crystal Palace on Tuesday night (kick-off 8.15pm GMT).

Steve Bruce's side are targeting back-to-back league victories, following an impressive 2-0 win at Everton on Saturday, when they host the Eagles at St. James' Park and this will be the second time England has officiated a game involving the Magpies this term.

The Doncaster-born whistler was the man in the middle for Newcastle's 2-1 victory against West Bromwich Albion in December. The 35-year-old booked five players that day, handing out yellow cards to United pair Jamal Lewis and Callum Wilson.

In the 16 games England has refereed so far this term across the Premier League, Championship, FA Cup and Carabao Cup, he has shown a total of 39 yellow cards and one red.

On Tuesday, England will be assisted by Gary Beswick and Nick Hopton while Martin Atkinson will be the fourth official.

Andre Marriner will be the VAR, with Sian Massey-Ellis acting as Assistant VAR.
