John Brooks will be the referee for Newcastle United's Premier League trip to Coventry City on Monday night (kick-off 8pm BST).

The Magpies take on the Sky Blues for the first time since January 2001 as goals from Gary Speed, Shola Ameobi and Kieron Dyer inspired Sir Bobby Robson's side to a 3-1 win at St. James' Park.

Brooks, promoted to the Select Group of Referees in June 2021, oversaw Newcastle's 2-0 win against Crystal Palace last season. He handed out four yellow cards at St. James' Park that afternoon, booking former Magpie Anthony Gordon.

The Leicestershire official was the man in the middle for United's 2025 Carabao Cup final victory against Liverpool and booked three players at Wembley Stadium, booking Nick Pope and Sandro Tonali.
