The Winlaton-born teenager, who joined the Magpies' youth set-up at the age of 13, made his maiden league outing for the Magpies during a 2-0 defeat against Fulham on the final day of the previous campaign, featuring as a second half substitute at Craven Cottage.
The Academy graduate's achievement was recently recognised by the Premier League as the 19-year-old received a commemorative Debut Ball. Introduced in 2015-16, the memento is given to all homegrown debutants who were developed at the academy of a club in English football for three years or more at the time of their first appearance.
Neave told newcastleunited.com: "I worked hard throughout the season and thought that I deserved it. I remember Eddie Howe pulled me when I was warming up and said I'd be coming on, telling me to enjoy it and run a lot for him.
"Coming through the Academy of my boyhood club to then making my Premier League debut means a lot to me and my family and the ball tops off a great moment.
"I give a lot of credit to my family for helping me throughout my journey. I'm really close to my grandad Derek. He comes to every single game and he used to take me to every single training session.
"He's been with me through thick and thin so this is a really proud moment for him too. I think he's pleased with how I've come through and he's buzzing to be there with me to experience it.
"When I show him the ball, I know he'll be buzzing!"
Neave enjoyed a breakthrough campaign at senior level last term after making his UEFA Champions League debut in February 2026, featuring in a 6-1 away win against Qarabağ FK in February, before achieving his English top-flight bow three days before his 19th birthday.
The England U19 international, named on the bench for Newcastle's 2025 Carabao Cup final victory against Liverpool at Wembley Stadium, admitted achieving his lifelong dreams were fully earned and is hopeful of gaining further senior experience this season.
"I haven't had the easiest of journeys coming through," Neave explained. "When it came to scholarships, I had to work for that before I ended up getting one.
"It then all came to me quite quickly, getting into my first England squad and making my debut for the Under-17s. As soon as I got back, I got my first professional contract with Newcastle at 17 so my life flipped on its head.
"I trained with the first team, was named on the bench and then made my debut in the Champions League and Premier League.
"I want to be playing senior football week-in, week-out even if that's a loan or getting dipped in and out of games here, trying to impress the gaffer. Whatever it is, I just want to be playing football. That's my passion and I hope this season goes well."
