The Magpies have now guaranteed themselves a play-off spot, at the very least, in this season's UEFA Champions League group phase, with just one game left - against Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday, January 28th.

Yoane Wissa got the ball rolling against PSV, slotting in from close range after an unselfish Joelinton assist. The midfield powerhouse went on to enjoy a solid game of his own in the middle of the park.

Anthony Gordon doubled United's lead soon after, with Wissa this time turning provider. Gordon had the simplest of finishes, into an empty net, after his team-mate's tenacious pressing from the front.

At the back, it was another strong showing from Lewis Hall, who was both a threat going forward and impressive defensively.
