Steur arrive on Tyneside this week, penning a long-term deal at St. James' Park following his breakthrough years at boyhood club Ajax.

The midfielder will wear the number 14 shirt at Newcastle, previously held by the likes of Alexander Isak, Isaac Hayden and Charles N'Zogbia.

Asked about choosing that particular number, Steur explained: "I got a list of available numbers and when I saw it, I directly knew it was my number.

"Also for my former club [Ajax], there was a big legend called Johan Cruyff. He also wore the number 14 so it's really special to have this number on my back."
