The Tigers arrive on Tyneside for the first top flight meeting between the two sides since 2015, following Hull's promotion from the Championship via the play-offs last term.
Monday night's 4-1 defeat at Leeds United brought an abrupt halt to the Magpies' unbeaten start to the campaign, with Swedish winger Elanga missing that loss at Elland Road.
Head coach Jaissle revealed the 24-year-old was set to have a scan on Thursday to determine the severity of the problem, but hopes that it won't be an issue that sidelines Elanga long-term.
Here are some of the main talking points from his pre-match media briefing:
On Elanga's injury...
"No real update on Anthony. I've spoken with him now, he is heading for an MRI scan. We will get more clarity after that, and hope it's not too serious.
"It is sad after the great start he had. He is a key strength in our squad and we want to stay positive."
On bouncing back after losing at Leeds...
"It is really important to show the right reaction after the Leeds United match. We are fully aligned and fully committed to show a reaction in front of our fans.
"It would be nice to finish this block of fixtures before the international break with a good result."
On the newly-promoted Tigers, who have yet to lose in the Premier League in 2026/27...
"Hull are doing a great job, they have a clear identity. They know exactly what they are doing and what their strengths are and how to execute them on the pitch.
"We need to take their strengths away and use their weaknesses to get a good result."
On other team news ahead of this weekend's game...
"(We have) no new players coming back for the Hull game. We have some injured players missing, but we use that as an opportunity for others.
"Anthony (Elanga) and Amar (Dedić) will not be able to play on Saturday. JJ (Jacob Ramsey) is injured. Hopefully after the international break our injury list is shorter."
On returning to St. James' Park...
"I am really optimistic with our fans, they have a good feeling and sense of the challenges we have. They are supporting us.
"We are happy we are back home in front of them on the weekend."
