Max joined United’s Academy at the age of 11 and progressed through the ranks via loan spells with Northampton Town and Chesterfield.
The 21-year-old spent the 2024/25 season on loan with Chesterfield, keeping five clean sheets in 18 League Two fixtures.
He made his under-21s debut for Newcastle's second-string in a Premier League 2 clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers in November 2020 at the age of 16 before making his professional debut with Northampton while on loan for the first half of the 2023/24 campaign.
The young shot-stopper has featured in all of Eddie Howe’s matchday squads during this season’s UEFA Champions League league phase.
He will now join former Celtic captain Scott Brown’s side ahead of Tuesday night’s Scottish Cup clash against St Johnstone.
Everyone at Newcastle United wishes Max the very best for the remainder of the campaign.
