Toon in training: Blade runners

Newcastle United take on the Premier League's bottom side, Sheffield United, on Tuesday night and the Magpies trained on Monday ahead of the game.

The Magpies will look to get back to winning ways at Bramall Lane, and did the double over the Blades last season.

Allan Saint-Maximin scored in both matches but the Frenchman has yet to resume training as he continues to recover from the after-effects of Covid-19, but it is hoped that he will be able to rejoin his team-mates in the next few days.

Elliot Anderson made his United debut at Arsenal on Saturday and will hope to be involved again in midweek, while Steve Bruce must decide whether to stick with Karl Darlow - who has been excellent all season - or give Martin Dúbravka a first league start of the season after the Slovakian shot-stopper made his return from a pre-season heel injury in the weekend's Emirates FA Cup tie.
