The Scottish centre-back joined the Magpies from hometown club Kilmarnock FC in 2022 and made ten appearances in League Two last season while on loan with Carlisle United.
The 20-year-old made his senior debut for Kilmarnock as a 16-year-old in October 2021 during a Scottish Challenge Cup last-16 win against Queen's Park.
He made a further three appearances during the 2021/22 season, including his league bow during a 1-1 draw against Raith Rovers.
He will now join Aaron Taylor-Sinclair’s side ahead of Saturday’s Scottish Championship clash against Ross County at The Albert Bartlett Stadium.
Everyone at Newcastle United would like to wish Charlie well for the remainder of the campaign.
