The Magpies enter the competition at the second round stage along with the other 11 Premier League teams not participating in European competitions this season.

It will take place during the build-up to Plymouth Argyle's first round tie against Exeter City on Sky Sports Football on Monday 10 August.

Sky Sports presenter David Prutton will host the draw at approximately 7:20pm BST alongside pundits Jobi McAnuff and Jamie Mackie.

The competition is regionalised, with a northern and southern section, until the third round.

Newcastle ended their 70-year wait for a piece of domestic silverware after beating Liverpool 2-1 in the 2025 Carabao Cup final at Wembley Stadium.

All second round ties are due to be played on the week beginning Monday 24 August.
