Newcastle United ended their pre-season campaign with a 2-1 victory over Ligue 1 side Saint-Ètienne on Saturday.
Joelinton opened the scoring in the first half before fellow summer signings Jetro Willems and Allan Saint-Maximin came on in the second period for their Magpies debuts.
And both players were involved in the build up as Matty Longstaff - himself just off the bench - made it 2-0 with a stunning strike at the Gallowgate End. It was his first senior goal and rounded off an encouraging day for Steve Bruce's side, even though former Newcastle defender Mathieu Debuchy pulled one back for Les Verts late on.
